The ps3 has some weird stuff going with it, I've definitely noticed that it takes longer to render a page on my ps3 than it does on my net-book. I believe its because of the architecture of the device needed by the cell processor. I really wish they would just use Google Chrome as their browser. I could have done this if they didn't take out support for Linux. Slow flash rendering would not explain such an excessive decrease in speed - is your PC also running wirelessly?

You have to think of networking as a bunch of linked chains and that chain can only hold as much as its weakest link. In this case, your Wifi and PSN are going to be the weakest links. You've tested this by trying both wifi and wired and shown that the wifi is the weak link. Since you said the PS3 is next to the router, it begs the question "why not just wire it up and not care?
